reflecting on 2024
growth, resilience, and new beginnings
As 2024 comes to a close, I’ve been reflecting on the year that’s passed and all it’s brought to lwdecor and my own journey. It’s been a year of growth, resilience, and gratitude. Through the highs and lows, I’ve learned to slow down, cherish the simple moments, and embrace the opportunities that come with stepping into the unknown.
a year of loss and growth
2024 began with the heartbreak of saying goodbye to my mom. I found myself grieving more for what could have been than what was, as she wasn’t very present in our lives while she was here. Since her passing, I've felt her presence in the beautiful signs around us—like butterflies, hummingbirds, birds, and deer. It’s as if she’s celebrating life with us in a way she couldn’t have before. This loss has also given me the space to slow down, be more present, and lean into the love and support of my family, finding comfort in the moments we share together.
building dreams, one step at a time
This year has been a milestone for lwdecor as I leaned into my dream of helping others create beautiful, meaningful spaces. Launching the home decor styling boxes was both exciting and nerve-wracking, but it quickly became one of the most fulfilling parts of my journey. Seeing these boxes come to life—and knowing they’re helping others style their homes with intention—has been an incredible joy.
I also stepped out of my comfort zone this year by participating in my first vendor market and introducing lwdecor products in-store at Fab Finds. These experiences pushed me to overcome fear and trust in the vision I’ve been building. They’ve shown me that growth often comes from the moments we’re most unsure about.
lessons in slowing down
Amid all the progress, one of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned this year is the importance of slowing down. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle of life, but taking time to pause, reflect, and be present has brought so much clarity and peace. Whether it’s making memories with my boys, sharing quiet moments with Kevin, or simply sitting with my thoughts, these moments have become the foundation of my days.
looking ahead to 2025
As I look ahead to 2025, I carry these lessons with me—the resilience I’ve found in loss, the courage to chase after my dreams, and the joy that comes from intentional living. There are so many exciting things on the horizon for lwdecor, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me.
